A-Z Archive: M! Mothering

Mothering:

“I will love you forever,

I’ll like you for always,

as long as I’m living,

my Mother you’ll be”

Robert Munsch

Anyone who has read this book has probably not put it down without grabbing a tissue first.  My mom follows her heart each and every day and sometimes that causes her to make tough decisions.  This weekend was a difficult one in which she had to trust her heart that with her help a friend in need will come through the worst of times.  It is hard to trust yourself in these situations when the trust is actually 100% in someone else’s behaviors and actions… your mind doubting what your heart is telling.  I love my mom for her courage and willingness to hold the hand of our dear friend during this time.

As long as I’m living, proud of my mother, I’ll be.

A to Z Archive: L: Lyrical Lake

22 Mar

On this Lazy morn,

Out during Low Light,

Looked through the Lavish Leaves,

Rested against the Lazy Ledge,

Waited for the Lifting fog,

and dreamed into the Lyrical Lake.

Attempting to include some poetry every now and then. Elementary at the start, but hopefully… eventually… I will be able to express what I’m really trying to say!

Happy Spring!

20 Mar

Going through my photos I found this poem from my glorious college days.  My bestfriend and roommate left this momento on the refrigerator with poem-a-day magnets. I should find a set of these and start all over!  I, of course, illustrated it myself using the all too wonderful Paint feature on Microsoft…

Here’s to Spring!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Contrast Day 2

13 Mar

Tuesday (Two-fer)

“What good is the warmth of summer without the cold of winter to give it sweetness?”_JS

“There are as many nights as days and the one is just as long as the other in a year’s course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word “happy” would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.” _CGJ

Posted two today since they were taken minutes apart.  The great thing about sunsets, they are timeless, the untrained eye cannot determine winter spring summer or fall.

Check back Daily..  I think I have enough for a photo each day this week!!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Contrast

“Contrast is what makes photography interesting”_Conrad Hall, cinematographer.

My favorite movies are movies that show contrast, in set design, scenery selection, screenplay dialogue, and cast.

Lack of contrast makes a bland occasion.

Check back Daily.. my eye tends to catch a lot of contrast so I think I have enough for a photo each day this week!!

“Love is a force more formidable than any other.  It is Invisible- it cannot be seen or measured- yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment.” _BdA

“It was the in between time, before day leaves and night comes, a time I’ve never been partial to because of the sadness that lingers in the coming and going.” _SMK

“It is impossible to walk alone at twilight and not find beauty”_MKR

After playing with these pictures they began to remind me of the old “Visit Florida” Postcards from a while back.  I wish people would send postcards more often! In our hurried current society, it is so rare to even receive a handwritten letter any more.  I think I am going to make a point to send at least one letter or postcard each week this month.  Someone has to keep the USPS in business right?  Anyone want to join me?

“It is nothing but Grand, my friend, where the water meets the sand… that which makes it even better is a cold drink in hand!”_mB

“Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are Gone.”_anon

Struggled with G.  Decided to post a picture of my favorite beach in Florida along the Gulf Coast of the Panhandle.   Added some effects using Microsoft Picture Manager.  Can’t wait to get my hands on Photoshop one day!
